I started in Compliance by accident. I have a Master’s Degree in Marketing from Copenhagen Business School, so I was initially hired to do marketing for a startup company in the financial services industry here in lovely Malta. I never got to do any marketing and was instead trained in AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and Compliance, both areas which are now my passion.

Getting into iGaming itself was also a coincidence. I had always heard great things about the industry, and one day my good friend from Denmark introduced me to his new partner, who worked in Betsson’s legal department. She told me they were was looking for a Compliance Manager, so I applied for the role immediately and got it!

Working in this industry keeps you on your toes and you are constantly challenged, which I enjoy as that is how you grow not only as a professional, but also as a person. It sounds like such a cliché to say that it feels like being part of a family, but at Hero Gaming this is truly how it is. You meet and work with so many wonderful and inspiring people.
