The iGaming industry offers online games such as slots or casinos, fixed odds betting – including horse racing or sports pools – and peer-to-peer games, such as poker, bingo or controlled skill games. iGaming has grown to become one of the largest and most important industries in Malta, and Malta has become a key hub for iGaming globally since it’s beginnings in 2004. Most of the biggest companies in the industry are based here, and 358 iGaming licences have been granted in Malta. We are home to a whole iGaming ecosystem: so as well as the over 11,000 people directly employed, there are 5,000 more people working in related services. But what distinguishes our industry is not just its size and global reach; it is the innovation that drives our growth and success.
