Making sure that players have fun in a safe environment is incredibly important to iGaming companies. As well as self-exclusion, there are a range of different tools and techniques that companies use to make sure players are protected. These include:
Deposit Limits
The deposit limit protects customers from spending beyond their set limit.
Other limits
There are other safeguards employed by companies, such as limits on wagers and losses; as well as only allowing players to log in for a certain amount of time.
Detection
Companies are building increasingly sophisticated tools to help them detect any changes in player’s risk behaviour.
Blocking
When a customer declares a gambling issues accounts (and any related accounts) are suspended and access to them is blocked for a definite or indefinite period of time.
Protection of minors
There are a range of measures such as requesting the Customer to submit a copy of a photographic identification document in order to verify both age and identity, to make sure that minors aren’t able to gamble online.
